Ms. Stewart is a member with the firm. Since 1996, she has been providing legal counsel to diverse professional clients, medical institutions and municipal corporations. Her practice focuses on medical malpractice defense, legal malpractice defense, employment discrimination defense, governmental tort liability defense and land use. She has represented a variety of municipalities against claims of sexual harassment, gender discrimination, disability discrimination, defective sidewalk maintenance, gross negligence and public building defects. In May, 2008, Ms. Stewart was a key note speaker at a conference of the Michigan Public Employer Labor Relations Association(MPERLA) where her presentation focused on the rights and responsibilities of a public employer in dealing with dishonesty in the workplace.

Ms. Stewart has extensive litigation experience including trial, motion practice, evidentiary hearings, depositions and appeals. She has litigated cases throughout the state of Michigan, including in the Circuit Court for the counties of Oakland, Wayne, Washtenaw, Macomb, Jackson, Lenawee, Genesee, Monroe, Tuscola, Livingston and Kent. She has defended physicians and health care practitioners in numerous specialties such as nursing, physician extender, physical therapy, emergency medicine, internal medicine, plastic surgery, general surgery, anesthesiology, obstetrics and gynecology, vascular surgery, radiology, and neurosurgery. She conducts routine depositions of medical experts requiring national and international travel. Ms. Stewart has successfully challenged, through evidentiary hearing and otherwise, the scientific validity of the opinions of opposing experts resulting in the expert being stricken and the case dismissed. She has achieved numerous verdicts of no cause for action in medical malpractice actions both as first and second chair trial attorney.

Ms. Stewart has represented attorneys in legal malpractice claims arising out of several different fields of practice, including probate and estate litigation, divorce litigation, personal injury litigation and consumer law litigation. She has regularly achieved favorable results on behalf of her attorney clients through Summary Disposition, Case Evaluation, and Facilitation.
