Julie McCann O’Connor, is a shareholder and founding member of O’Connor, DeGrazia, Tamm & O’Connor, P.C.  Ms. O’Connor specializes in appellate law and has represented both public and private sector clients in hundreds of appeals in state and federal appellate courts.  These cases have involved, among others, civil rights, first amendment, employment discrimination and many other municipal liability issues.  Ms. O’Connor’s practice also includes appeals involving professional liability claims against physicians and attorneys.  She defended the constitutionality of tort reform legislation capping non-economic damage awards.  She has represented attorneys in claims involving business transactions, real estate, securities and medical claims.

Ms. O’Connor was acknowledged as one of the top 50 female attorneys in the 2011 Michigan Super Lawyers magazine.  She has also been named a Michigan Super Lawyer in appellate practice each year since 2007.  Ms. O’Connor is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a national honorary society for trial and appellate lawyers, composed of fewer than one-half of one percent of lawyers nationally.  She is an appointed panel member of the State Bar of Michigan Discipline Board.
